DIY WEDDING RING WORKSHOPS
“AND WITH THIS RING, I THEE WED.”
What do you want to be holding when those precious words are on your lips: a commercialized, trendy, same-old-same-old hunk of metal anyone could pick up at the nearest jewelry store chain; or a specially-designed, customized, I’ve-never-seen-anything-like-it piece of art forged with your own two hands?
This is the difference between buying from the display case and making your own wedding rings with Ringed: a symbol of your love and commitment for your partner tied to a memory that will last a lifetime.
Learn how to create a rad wedding band or engagement ring your partner will cherish for the rest of their life. Not only will you leave your in-person or virtual jewelry making workshop with a symbol of your union, but also a special memory of the time you spent making it.
How I cater to offbeat weddings
I take inclusivity very seriously and work with all types of people. Rings have no gender. Style has no gender. I have no assumptions of what an engagement ring or wedding band means to you. Please know that Ringed always has been and always will be a safe space.
I’m Allison Ullmer, a metalsmith and fine art jeweler, and trust me — I know exactly where you are. My partner heard me when I said “don’t ever buy me jewelry,” and proposed with a solid gold ring instead. Which I then melted down to create both of our rings. I went on the same journey you’re about to, evaluating my aesthetic and lifestyle to find the perfect stone and shapes for my ring. The end result means more to me than any designer ring ever could because it was crafted with heart. And I know you and your partner are going to feel the same.
“We made our rings with Allison for our wedding and we cannot stop talking about how much we loved the experience. To start, she is 100% safe for LGBTQ+ clients. My husband and I had a lot of trouble finding jewelers that we felt comfortable with until we met Allison. Next, she is an incredible teacher. We did our workshop remotely on Zoom and she coached us through everything and made us both feel comfortable with the process. If you are not able to do an in-person workshop the remote option is just as amazing! We are so thankful that we met Allison and have such a special story to remember and we don't have words to express how much we love our rings.” - Daniel + Andre
As a jeweler and metalsmithing academic for over 20 years, I have seen and truly believe that rings have no gender. Style has no gender.
With that conviction, I will be giving $100 OFF a workshop to any and all LGBTQ+ couples that mention OffBeat Bride!
